Melissa Stefanowicz

Melissa Stefanowicz

Director of Nursing

My name is Melissa Stefanowicz, MSN, RN and I am the Director of Nursing. I have been at Elmhurst Extended Care Center since 2001 and have held many positions throughout the years. I have had experience with nursing care, admissions, and care planning. I have always loved the geriatric population and happy I have had the opportunity to grow at this facility. As the Director of Nursing I oversee the nursing department, schedule nursing staff, provide education to residents and families, and focus on infection prevention methods. I am married with three beautiful children. In my spare time I spend time with my family and do outdoor activities such as hiking. My most important accomplishment is receiving my Masters in Nursing from Benedictine University and receiving my Director of Nursing Certificate from the National Association of Directors of Nursing. One day I would like to use my Master's degree to educate our future nurses. I believe that nurses should be educated in safety and quality of care.
